Given the spiritual condition of todays Muslim communities, if the anointed one, the Mehdi himself (God bless him), were to be announced by the heavens, I dont believe we would fair well. One group would object that the manner in which it all occurred matched too similarly to weak narrations from the Prophet of God, and another group would most likely rebel and protest his coming to power because it didnt match current sensitives or the will of the people. One of the most priceless gifts given by God to his servants is a cognizance of the boundaries of the human intellect and a recognition of the fallibility of the human enterprise.
