Giving Tuesday: What’s it all about? Giving Tuesday is a national initiative whose mission is to raise money for non-profits while reminding communities in the United States that they have a lot to be thankful for. Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a one day event on December 2. The Humboldt Botanical Garden, Sequoia Park Zoo, Morris Graves Museum of Art and the Clarke Museum are partnering together on Giving Tuesday to remind our community how lucky we are to have such fantastic resources at hand. Our North Coast Community prides itself on having a healthy community with a great quality of life. These organizations align with these desirable characteristics by directly contributing to the overall health of the community and the quality of our North Coast lifestyle. Flora, fauna, art and history; what more could you ask for? Our 44.5 acre site features over 7 acres of formal gardens, 5 miles of hiking trails and a wide range of educational and recreational opportunities. The Garden is located in southern Eureka adjacent to the College of the Redwoods. Visitors experience an ornamental terrace garden, the largest native plant garden in Northern California, a riparian area, a temperate woodland garden and a 100-foot diameter earth mound that is the only one of its kind in North America. Our facility provides a safe location for the public to recreate, relax, reflect and enjoy nature while inspiring awe and curiosity about life on earth.
