Giving tithes and offerings is a means of grace. In Pauls letter - TopicsExpress

Giving tithes and offerings is a means of grace. In Pauls letter to the Philippians the Apostle give thanks to God for their unsolicited gifts to him. Using the language of business, banking, and finance he outlines how their offerings function as a means of grace. Using the language of worship and the Temple, Paul also describes how their gifts are a fragrant offering to God. Indeed, the word worship is the assignment of worth to something: that which we make our highest priority and consider to be of highest worth, or value, is what we worship. And, as Christians, we assign our highest priority, worth, and value to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Do we express how we value our relationship with God in our giving? Do we even bother to tithe just our time to God? I challenge you, this week, to tithe your time to God. Spend a tithe of your waking hours with God, in service to God, in prayer, in the study of Scripture, in participating in the Body of Christ. When we invest our time and our interest in God, it is amazing how God magnifies the abundance of grace in our lives.
