Glad to see Police (IPS) officers protecting People in all forms...one after another..UP Police is setting examples (Operation Smile by Gaziabad Police and now this one)...Kudos..Proud of u guys :) ***** The news reads as follows********** MORADABAD: When nobody stepped forward to save an ailing old Muslim man who was lying on the street since many days, a cop took mercy on him and got him admitted to a hospital. SP, city, Vaibhav Krishna ensured that the man was admitted to the district hospital and received proper treatment, after doctors there had reportedly refused to admit him. The homeless man, Haji Babban, was reportedly lying in a street in Jama Masjid area since the last 10 days and nobody came forward to support him despite the fact that he was suffering from severe illness. A local, Sadaqat Ali, said, We have seen him since from our childhood over the stairs of Jama Masjid. He is very supportive in nature. Just recently I came to know that his respiratory system is not working. I have spoken to other people of the community but nobody came forward to support him for medical treatment. On Saturday evening, people of the area took him to the district hospital for treatment after his health deteriorated, but the hospital authorities reportedly did not allow him to be admitted. When we told the doctors that he was a homeless man, they categorically denied for his admission. Doctors told us that we need his relatives signature on the admit card and for legal requirements, said Farid Shamsi. People supporting the man brought the matter to the notice of Krishna, who said he would ensure that he would look into the issue. When the SP came to know that doctors had refused to admit Babban into the hospital, he spoke to the Cheif Medical Officer and asked him to admit Babban and ensure proper medical treatment immediately, said Adil Shamsi. Speaking with TOI, Moradabad SP Vaibhav Krishna, said, I was disgusted when I came to know that an old man was seriously ill and nobody came forward to support him. Even the doctor denied to treat him. I ordered CMS, Moradabad, to get him admitted and to provide him medical facilities immediately, he said, adding that being a police officer, its my duty to protect all the human beings in any form. Babban was then admitted to hospital after the intervention of the IPS officer. We have admitted him into the ICU and since morning, we have noticed that he is improving. We have also set up special duty of the another doctor for the patient, said Dr N K Mishra.
