Glad to see the issue of the Longbridge development being discussed in this weeks Bromsgrove Standard. Its good news for our area, and its important that we have the right infrastructure in place to support local residents. Last week I brought senior Treasury Minister Andrea Leadsom to Longbridge to highlight the importance of the development for our area, which was kicked started under the previous Conservative-led Birmingham City Council. She was pleased that as part of our long term economic plan and strong economy, further investment has been made in our area. Speaking at the site, the Minister said, I was extremely impressed to see the regeneration of Longbridge when I visited with Rachel Maclean. The area has clearly been transformed: creating jobs, training the next generation at Bournville College and building desirable new homes for families. “As City Minister my focus is on making sure banks are offering access to the finance they need, whether it is to get on the property ladder by supporting Help to Buy or for businesses to grow and expand. The visit to Longbridge was encouraging, as it showed that our long term economic plan is starting to show results. There is more work to do, which is why we must have Rachel as Conservative MP in Northfield at the General Election to keep us on the road to recovery.” Speaking to hundreds of local residents regularly, I know how important it is that the development is sensitively managed.
