Glamorous Ladies August Service Word by Pastor Ma Emma Cheryl Mwasinga Summary written by Dr Chimwemwe Kabaghe ( Chiki Kabaghe) Title: Embracing Gods Word (Doing or Responding to the Word) We all have desires, goals that we want to achieve in life. How can we achieve those goals? Through the Word of God. The Word of God is an Agent of Change; something to make you improve. What is an agent of change? For example in a company, an agent of change helps you organise things, improve on what you have. It could be a manager, who makes sure things are organised and properly managed. An agent of change can be a consultant from inside the company or from outside, brought in to help. He/she can be a Researcher, Trainer, Teacher or Counsellor. Sometimes they call him Boss. An agent of change can be responsible for a certain activity in the organization, or set to play a specific role; but they can shift their role according to the needs of the organization. So this is what the Word is like, it has come to cause change in our lives. The Bible in John 1:3 says All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. Acknowledge this fact, you may want something and it has not been made, you need to rely on the Word. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. The Word was made flesh...the Word can do anything. Anything, chilichonse- no exceptions. We all have phones, or have seen phones before; and we know phones run on airtime. Every time you need airtime, you do not go to the Airtel Headquarters to buy MK50 worth of airtime. Or if you want to go to Kenya, and since there is no base for Kenyan Airlines here in Malawi, you do not walk to Kenya to book for a ticket to fly there! Thats foolish! There are agents for Airtel put everywhere to help those that will need airtime. There are agents for Kenyan Airlines to help anyone who wants to fly to Kenya. We have the Word of God as our agent to God! Dont think that you should go to God and bypass His Word. The Word is the agent that can tackle all your needs and desires! And your goals and desires can be dealt with depending on how often you go to this agent of change, the Word. It is the direct ticket, instant Word. And you walk with it daily in your bags, phones, gadgets. How can you use the Word? By doing what you have heard. You do not just hear it and be grateful for the Word and walk away or go to sleep. The Bible is not a novel to just read and forget. DO what it says; for the Word is Life, life on paper, its up to you to fish it out. The Word is your necessary food, more than the purpose of your heart (Job 23:12). Let your needs be engulfed in the Word. Others think its risky to follow God, that He is just denying you everything No! He knows that if you esteem Him, you will have all your desires and more. The risk you are taking is to your advantage. How does this benefit you, pay you, and reward you? 1 Kings 17:8-12. The widow had a poor and wrong mentality, giving up and getting ready to die, even after hearing the Word spoken by Elijah. Most times we are afraid of giving out anything, because you will be left with nothing...Wrong mentality! But in verse 13-15 Elijah reassure her not to be afraid, to do as she is told, for The Lord made promised that she will have flour and oil till He brought rain back to the Land. And the widow DID as she had been told, and had food for herself, her son and Elijah for MANY days. DO! DO! DO! The Word is given to us and its our responsibility to DO! The widow was not the only one in Zarephath, and Elijah could have easily gone to another widow. So when we hear the Word, do it! Its not enough to attend sermons and monthly meetings and not DO the Word. You will remain where you are without any progress! In the same 1 Kings 17, verse 4 The Lord had commanded ravens to feed Elijah. And what more us, people. We are commanded and yet we fail to do! Ravens obeyed! In Psalms 147:9 the ravens cry to God for food and He feeds them. Yet when they were commanded to feed Elijah they obeyed!!! How much more us who have the Word at our disposal, who have the opportunity to feed from it daily. Yet we choose to be hungry for 6 days and eat only on Sundays. DO the Word! DO what you hear! DO what you read in the Bible!
