Glen Burnie Toy R Us Fire Intentionally Set Fire/Explosives Investigators Seek Public’s Help NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release: January 15, 2015 Contact: Captain Russ Davies 410-222-8305 (Office) 410-222-8746 (PIO Line) Glen Burnie Toy R Us Fire Intentionally Set Fire/Explosives Investigators Seek Public’s Help On January 15th at 11:57 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a reported building fire at the Glen Burnie Toys R Us, located at 6711 Ritchie Highway North. The first arriving unit observed heavy smoke showing from the roof and personnel entering the building encountered heavy smoke and high heat conditions, prompting the request for a 2nd alarm. Upon entering the building, firefighters located an active fire in a merchandise rack. The store’s automatic sprinkler system activated and slowed the spread of the fire and enabled all occupants to safely exit the building. Damage to the structure and contents is estimated at more than $250,000.00 Anne Arundel County Fire/Explosive Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set and are searching for two persons of interest in this fire.
