Glen is chosen for England Johnson to reach England half-century Liverpool defender Glen Johnson will reach a half-century of international caps when England host Denmark in a friendly at Wembley on Wednesday evening, Roy Hodgson has confirmed. The 29-year-old is one of five Reds representatives in the Three Lions squad for the fixture, along with Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge. Johnson made a debut for his country in November 2003 and has since racked up a total of 49 appearances, including four matches at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Today, England boss Hodgson confirmed that the full-back, who recently returned to the Liverpool line-up after a spell on the sidelines, will feature against the Danes and achieve a landmark. He commented: I havent named the team yet but if you really insist then I will tell you that Glen Johnson will win his 50th cap at right-back, yes. Johnson is battling to secure a spot in the England starting XI for this summers World Cup, where Hodgsons team will lock horns with Costa Rica, Italy and Uruguay in the group stages.
