Glucose test came back on Friday and I am on the high end of normal, at 136 with the cutoff at 140, which means I am not diagnosed with gestational diabetes but that I need to watch the sugar intake, poo..On the other hand I found out to my relief I can take my previous prescription of Prilosec for this ungodly GERD that is worse now and no amount of TUMs was relieving. In fact eating all that calcium didnt help with my iron. Pregnant women already have low Hemoglobin/Hematocrit and calcium will bind with any iron containing food. So I was told eat more spinach, red meat, brown rice, and figs (gross) along with an iron supplement taken with foods rich in vitamin C for maximum uptake while taking the supplement an hour or two before eating those calcium rich items. Joys of pregnancy!
