Go Charter! Among the garbage the opposition to the county charter have been spewing is that the 7 districts are gerrymandered. Even Boggs jumped on that wagon train of idiocy. I guess they got tired of trying to claim that your vote is only worth 14% under the Charter because you only vote in one district when they found out that no one besides their brain dead sycophants was actually falling for the idea that District Representation is unfair. Probably because most of us actually completed middle school and know how to divide fractions. I, and 1/7th of the county, will vote for a person who makes up 1/7th of the Council. Huh, why that sounds so fair I’m amazed no one else uses that system. Oh wait! How about almost every single democratic state and nation and most larger cities, you know, those City Ward thingies? I know most politicians think voters are brain dead but we’re not that stupid. I have no idea how one Gerrymanders districts in Non-Partisan Elections, since that is defined as tampering with districts to advantage a political party which seems kind of pointless with Non-Partisan Election. Of course in politics dishonesty isn’t a handicap, it’s practically a prerequisite. Still, even if we dismiss the absurdity of the claim, what exactly is the proof of Gerrymandering? I said so? I have a ‘hunch’? I’ve seen the map, it’s all compact squares and straight lines, gerrymandered districts are all crazy looking. So just one more bucket of slop these guys are trying to get us to eat because they don’t want us being able to vote on our taxes.
