Go Pink! 5K this morning. Cancer shakes me to the core some - TopicsExpress

Go Pink! 5K this morning. Cancer shakes me to the core some days...seeing fighters, survivors, and remembering those who have lost valiant battles. In honor of my aunt Brenda Blackburn Peddycoart and my momma, Ginger McIlvain as well as cousin, Sonja Jeter Anderson, And of course my my sweet boy...I ran. It doesnt matter what kind or color #cancersucks. It was a tough course, but no where near as tough as what a cancer patient battles. There was a monster hill that they nicknamed chemo hill at the very end of the course. I started it running and in my head I spoke some mean threats to chemo...I hate chemo. As I was halfway up, my legs started screaming, my breath (and threats) weakened...I was humbled. I changed my pace to a walk and changed my words, too. I found myself saying thank you to chemo. Thank you for saving Brenda, Sonja and (still in process) Graysons life. It truly is a love/hate relationship and my moment on the hill made that clearer than ever. But can I tell you something? I still made it to the top...it was long, steep, agonizing and I may have shed a few tears, curse words, grimaces and smiles but I conquered it. Sweat. Fight. Cure. No matter the kind, no matter the color.
