Go See Selma...this film grips you from the very beginning with such fervor and insight into a snapshot of the civil rights movement. Oprah Winfreys opening where she attempts to register to vote sent a shutter through my spine--almost invoking a time in school when I had to learn the preamble. With almost as much intensity as the depicted on screen, I found myself reciting it along with her as if somehow fostering support for her character!!!! See it!!! Powerful. Heartbreaking. Moving!!! See Selma at your nearest theater! I woul love to have discussion with anyone interested after they see the film--I dont want to spoil it for anyone!! I will say that it did sadden me afterword to realize that some of experiences with police mimic what we are seeing today... WARNING: there are some intense scenes in the film...
