GoEco is providing global volunteering opportunities for university students, graduating students, faculty, and staff which focus on community and educational development as well as wildlife and environmental conservation. Discover Costa Rica with the Teaching and Social Work in José project or travel to the mountains of Tanzania where you will integrate your valuable skills into the Kilimanjaro Teaching and Community project. For a truly unique cultural experience, become a counselor at the Multicultural Eco Summer Camp in Israel where you will immerse yourself in the culturally dynamic community. COSTA RICA: Teaching and Social Work in San José This program is composed of many social work related projects around San José. Volunteers will focus on one of the following four options for their placement: elementary school, providing education assistance for 5-12 yr. olds; schools for disabled children, dedicated to providing much needed attention and care to those with physical and/or emotional problems; a home for abandoned children, a safe house for 0-7 yr. olds with no where else to turn; or nursing homes for the elderly, where volunteers will promote a family like atmosphere. The project includes orientation and Spanish lessons. Click here for more information! TANZANIA: Kilimanjaro Teaching and Community Situated at the foot of Africas highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, this project will see volunteers assist in numerous education initiatives within the local community. Support local nursery schools, education centers, secondary schools, and Friday community initiatives. Accommodations are in Moshi, a great location for adventures that want to discover a unique part of Africa. The project accepts volunteers at all levels of teaching capabilities however those with TEFL and previous experience and certification are given a more intensive experience. ISRAEL: Multicultural Eco Summer Camp Mughar, located in northern Israel and overlooking the Sea of Galilee, is a diverse town with a long and rich history. This camp provides a great opportunity for Druze, Christian, and Muslim kids to learn and play together in a unique summer program. Join a group of local staff and international volunteers to teach environmental education, arts, sports, and English. Volunteers will have the chance to use their initiative and personal skills to create innovative ways of teaching and interacting with the kids.
