Goal Setting Goal setting is an important aspect of life. We set career goals, financial goals and self development goals. Setting goals inside the box is something as athletes we need to do to motivate us and give us something to strive for. Setting a goal gives your training purpose and can help provide structure. As your coach I have set goals for you in terms of your athletic development but you may have other goals that you want to achieve. This could be anything from weight loss to getting your first pull up. Being a part of the Crossfit Indestri Beach community gives you access to the experience I have as a Crossfit coach. I take you accomplishing your goals very seriously and nothing is more rewarding than someone setting a goal and then seeing them achieve it. I have put up a “Goals Board” on the wall at the box. I want each of you to write down your name and your goal on a post it note and put it on the board. I will do everything in my power to help you achieve it. Setting goals is going to be an on going process. Set a goal, do the work, achieve the goal and then set another one. When setting your goals make sure to: • Be specific about what it is you want to achieve. • Make sure that you are able to measure your progress. • The goal needs to be attainable. • The goal should be realistic. Not easy, do able. • You should have a time in mind that you want to achieve the goal by. At the beginning of your hour at the box you have 15 minutes to get warmed up. 5 minutes of this time could be used developing skills that will help you achieve your goal.
