Goblet squat drop set. Goblet squats are a great exercise, but for most people the limiting in factor in goblet squats is how much they can hold in the goblet position, not how much weight their legs can handle. With that in mind, try starting off your set with goblet squats for a predetermined number of reps, then lower the kettlebell (or dumbbell) down as if you were going to perform swings and continuing squatting for the same number of reps that you did for goblet squats. This allows you to reap the benefits of goblet squats and work your anterior core while also allowing your legs to get more of a training effect. This isn’t a drop set in the traditional sense of incrementally decreasing the load as you fatigue but rather a mechanical drop set whereby you switch to an easier variation as you fatigue. It’s a very simple yet very effective way to get the best of both worlds. Demonstrated by my client Ryan Shelc. https://youtube/watch?v=-kVZk4mJq2w
