God Bless Greed! Greed is the foundation of America. It is what we do best in the world. With greed as a backbone we have conquered the world. It is how we as people rank the powerful. We dont do it by degrees from universities or even by how famous someone is. We place those that are rich on pedestals and tried to teach our young to emulate them. Who do we known to more about JD Rockefeller or William McKinley, Andrew Carnegie or Rutherford B. Hayes. 100 years from now who are we going to study more Bill Gates or Jimmy Carter? For many of us the idea of having money is a double-edged sword. Its okay to have money but not too much. Because money is the root of all evil. We tend to think if our income rises above a certain point we will lose our spiritual enlightenment. So there is a mindset that making $ 30,000 a year is somehow more enlightened than making $ 3 million a year. Its okay to give money to our churches but its not okay for our churches to be rich. What we need to understand that money does not care. There is no good or bad money. Money is simply a tool. There is no such thing as blood money. There is only people who have blood on their hands. Above a certain point beyond survival, money has very little to do with happiness. Do you really believe that if Donald Trump had an extra couple hundred million dollars in his bank account he would really be that much more happier as a person. He would have a few extra options on how to spend it but it would not make him any happier. We as people into step away for equating happiness was money. Men especially get caught up in that belief system. Theres a part of us to believe its that if we only make an extra $ 10,000, hundred thousand dollars or, a million dollars more a year all of sudden we will be happier as a person. It may give us a little bit of happiness for short-time but that will soon wear off. And we will get back to whatever baseline of happiness that we started with. So if we start believing that money is not really the goal, but that simply a tool on how to achieve a true goals life becomes much more simpler. If our goals are to be happier. We need to figure out what happiness truly is. Does that mean that we spend more time with our family and our loved ones. Does that mean that we take more vacations? Or does it mean that we have more time to actually do our dreams. So the question is what are your goals beyond money. And how would you know when you reach those goals. So start out with a baseline question of if the universe did not care how much money you had how would you know if it was enough? And what would having enough be like, feel like, tastes like, and look like. What would the people around me think, act, or react. And most importantly what are the goals beyond just having X amount of dollars in your bank account. Remember its okay to have greed for money. But its even better to have greed for life, for love, and for your dreams and goals. Dr. H.
