God Created All-Genesis 1:1 Think of the finance used up by - TopicsExpress

God Created All-Genesis 1:1 Think of the finance used up by scientists trying to prove the creation of the universe by means of a big bang or evolution etc. Where has it got them? Yet conclusive evidence for the creation of the universe is given in the first sentence Holy Scripture, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (NIV). Yet many choose through the influence of sin, not to recognise this divine creation and exchange the truth of God for our lie (Romans 1:25). “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). I wonder sometimes if we fully grasp the enormous depth and meaning of this statement? Firstly, it can be deduced that God is eternal, in that time commenced with the creation of the universe. There is absolutely no reference to a beginning or creation of God Himself. Therefore, God has no beginning and no end. The next thing of note in this statement is that God created. When we think of how we create something this always means starting with the raw materials and manipulating them into the finished article. For example a carpenter when building a bookcase will purchase planks of wood, nails etc and from that build the bookcase. But visualise this, God had no raw materials and look what He created from nothing. As if the earth was not a magnificent enough creation from nothing, think of the number of galaxies located in our infinite solar system. The infinite nature in creation, reflects the infinite nature of Almighty God. Endless power: who else could issue a command and whatever He commanded came into being. Endless knowledge: who else could have such wisdom to coordinate the creation and consistently sustain the created order so precisely. Endless love: this is reflected in the continuous replenishment of the earth to meet creations needs and later in the coming of Christ. I have deliberately left this thought the conclusion in order to leave you with something to consider deeply in your heart throughout this coming week. The word God in Genesis 1:1 is the Hebrew word Elohim, meaning one entity consisting of several components. Namely, God the Father, God the Son And God the Holy Spirit come together to form the triune God. In verse 2 Genesis 1, we can clearly see that the Holy Spirit was involved in creation, because we read that the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Many presume that the mention of God in creation refers to God the Father. Yet if we go to Colossians 1:15-16 it becomes evident that this is not the case. “ The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him” (NIV). It is God the Son, the pre-incarnate Jesus who is the Creator of everything and the one who sustains the creation with complete authority. Is not this a wonderful thought, our Creator became our substitute for sin and thus our Saviour. He has promised that by simple faith in Him we can dwell with Him in His perfect new future heaven and earth when He renews all at times conclusion. Trust Him and don’t doubt your eternal destination. He has created perfection previously and there was a day coming when He’ll do it again.
