God Does the Impossible Read Genesis 17:1 through 19:29; Matthew 5:31–48 Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him. Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?” (Genesis 18:10–12). God said Sarah would have a child, and she laughed, claiming she was worn out and her husband was an old man. Sarah made her assumption based on what she knew as facts. But God doesn’t operate on what humans know. He has a plan for each person regardless of facts, circumstances, or knowledge. “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (verse 14). Conceiving and giving birth with the parents at ages ninety and one hundred seems impossible to the human mind, but when God becomes involved nothing is impossible. It wasn’t a hard thing for Him to create life in an older woman past childbearing years. None of life’s problems are too hard for Him to solve. He’s not hampered by age or time. Thought for Today: God turns the impossible into the possible. Quicklook: Genesis 18:10–15 Devotional brought to you by Gods Word For Today.
