God I love Texas! He is my state representative. He is also the person in charge of gerrymandering districts so they will always be Republican. The National Republicans want to filibuster everything that the majority (winners of elections) want to do. They feel the Minority should have a say and are upset that now a simple majority can have its way. While in the state of Texas, Republicans are doing everything they can (new voting requirements and specially determined district realignments) so that they will remain the Majority Party. They have also taken it another step. The Federal Government currently has a Democrat controlled Senate and a Democrat President. So the Republican Governor who replaced his predecessor after he became President and the Republican Senate and Congress now (not during the two Bush Administration) want to ignore policies from the Federal Government.
