God I love teaching piano! taught a kindergarten student, shes currently obsessed with the movie Frozen how to play the the first eight notes to the chorus of Let it Go the smile on her face was undescribable, another student tonight had written part of a song but wanted to make it sound more like The Pirates of the Caribbean, ah, thats easy! I said as I sat at the piano. Youve just gotta think like a pirate and play the piano like Jack Sparrow would! How ? he asked You find the next three chords that work well in context, and then you pound the hell out of them! so I should him, and as I left the house I could still hear him, perhaps much to the disparagement of his folks, still pounding the hell out of the piano, yet so happy. April Kern I owe you an update on my teaching and I apologize. I take on my 28th student on monday and still have 12 on the waiting list.
