God Looks on the Heart Knowing that God sees our hearts, we must be grateful for the comfort it gives. There are times that people judge our actions, but they really dont know our motives. Some criticize us for being flamboyant in our display of affection for God, but whats really important is the motive of our heart. Judas, one of Jesus disciples, passed judgment on Marys act of pouring on Jesus feet a flask of ointment worth the salary of a common laborer. He criticized Mary with a wrong motive. He wanted the amount used to buy the ointment to be given to the treasury for the poor. But Jesus knew his motive. He disapproved Marys act of worship with a wrong heart. He disparaged Marys act with a wrong motive (John 12:3-8). Today or tomorrow, let us not be afraid to come out in the open and show our love and worship for God. Dont be negatively affected by the criticisms of people. God knows our motives when we offer a gift for the ministry. God knows our hearts when we do a work in the church. God sees our intentions when we help in the community for Gods cause. God sees our hearts. It is He who measures our actions with the standards of truth and love. Let us not be discouraged. Let us continue to do our part in building Gods kingdom. Let us keep doing things with a right heart. 1Sa 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
