God SAYS: TODAYS HIStory Lesson:(after the exodus..when they were delivered to the promise land) 1 Samuel 8: Give us a king like all the other nations have they pleaded Give them what they want but warn them what it will bring.. explain that a king will make their children slaves, he will take and take and take but will not care. A king will destroy them But the people would not listen to Samuels warning. Even so, we want a king! So God allowed Samuel to appoint a king for the jewish nation. The lord stated that they rejected him, and followed other gods.. despite the miricles, they were caught up in the illusions of worldly power, even though they they had already won the lotto... they failed to recognize their wealth. They sought recognition of men rather than recognition from God. BEWARE OF FALSE IDOLTRY. BEWARE OF EXCUSES.
