God created us of His own image (Genesis 1:27). By His own "image" does not mean God created us of His physical likeness; but that God created us imbued with free will and endowed with the faculties to choose the good from the evil and the right from the wrong; in short, the ability to think. However, looking back in history, during crucial times when thinking would have led us to choose the good from the evil and the right from the wrong, we refused to use it and ended up choosing the evil, instead of the good, and the wrong, instead of the right. What is worse, we refuse to use our faculties of thinking in matters we thought had to do with God. Thus, we mistake literal and plain reading of the Bible which would lead to prejudices and injustices as the good and the right, only that we attach to them the word "divine." Thus, the evil and the wrong things we did became the divine good and the divine right.
