God does not call the equipped, He equips whom He calls and who - TopicsExpress

God does not call the equipped, He equips whom He calls and who comes to Him with a willing heart and arms open and ready to receive what He puts in them which is necessary for the journey. He uses the weak to shame the strong and the simple to confound the wise, We see this all through the Bible. I mean He even uses us and we are no great shakes in the spiritual department. We are sinners saved by an amazing God and His amazing grace! The daughters of Zelophehad set what should have been the true precedent for womens rights. They went to God and they asked. Some feminists today honestly make me ashamed to call myself female. And yes, there are too many that try to discredit the Bible speaking of the mistreatment of women then (and even now) but that was, and still is for that matter, mistreatment by MAN, not God. (And by the way I went to high school with a girl named Tirzah, so yeah they crop up from time to time :) ) It is always us and our disobedience and our mistrust and our foolish actions that block the blessings of God in our lives. He may not give us everything we want, but He gives us everything we need,. For if He gave us everything we wanted, would we honestly seek His Heart or would we be seeking His Hand first and foremost? That goes without saying, really. Of course we wouldnt. We are to seek Him and His Kingdom first and the rest will be given unto us. But the key is first seeking His Heart with all of ours and He will be found. But some are just never happy with simply enough, they want more and more whereas some are perfectly content with the bare essentials. But God wants to and does bless us every day. His mercies are new every morning, great is His faithfulness. I am sure Joshua was just as surprised as we will see Gideon in the book of Judges. As surprised as I am sure Moses was when God spoke to him from the burning bush, As surprised as Davids brothers and his father Jesse and probably even David himself were when God chose David to succeed Saul as king. God does not look at what we look at , and we should be right thankful that He doesnt. 1 Samuel 16:7 Do not regard his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. For man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. And that is something we can all be thankful for.
