God has severed people from my life, and at the time it was very painful. Looking back, it was for my protection or instruction. Then there were times when He separated people from me for a season, but they returned, but in a different capacity, with a renewed respect or a very different type of relationship. I believe I now have an understanding as to why. Idolizing people, placing them on a pedestal because I saw them as more than what they are, human. The distance helped me to see that. Doesnt make me love or respect them any less, but gives me a different viewpoint. You can love someone, but your life has to revolve around God as the center. Anything else is idolatry. No other gods before Me.
