God hasnt called us to build cities in this world. He has rather called us to participate in building His own City. Whatever the names of our own cities are called and no matter how noble our intentions and visions are for building them it will at best be peopled by imperfect men and women and ruled by the same kind. It may succeed for a while in our lifetimes but when we are gone it will be taken over by men of lesser steel and it will eventually fall to the world that we had hoped to shut out. In any case, most human cities are built on compromise and the ones we shall build even IN HIS NAME cannot be different. We shall need to compromise to build our own cities...even the ones WE BUILD IN HIS NAME, with good intentions. God has however called us ALL TO PARTICIPATE IN BUILDING HIS OWN CITY. He is not afraid of the world. He is not planning to shut out the world. He is planning to CONQUER the world. He will destroy this world and build His own city upon its ancient ruins. His CITY will be peopled by men of His own kind and ruled by perfect men and women. The administration of His City will not be given to others. Streets of gold Waters clear as crystal Trees of life River of life Healing leaves Death-banishing fruits! Our hearts wait for thee O Zion!
