God is absolutely been blowing my mind this week. I found out from reading the scriptures that what Ive been taught my whole life about baptism as a mere expression of your inner faith is wrong. Baptism is not that. Baptism is the participation in Jesuss death and the forgiveness of your sins and is when you receive the holy spirit. I cant believe no one told me this sooner, but Im glad this is happening. Its made me question what I believe because I am wondering if it truly lines up with scripture. Seriously, this is vital and people need to understand just how specific scripture is and how really understanding it in context can change how you look at it.
