God is happy. Depressing economic news doesnt ruin his day. He isnt moody. He doesnt have ups and downs. God is recession-proof, by nature. He is everlastingly joyful. The happiest day in your life is only a dim reflection of the joy of the Lord. The Bible paints a portrait of a God who laughs (Psalm 2:4), sings and shouts for joy, (Zephaniah 3:17), rejoices (Luke 15:5,6), makes merry (Luke 15:23,24), celebrates (Psalm 104:31), is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4), and possesses joy (Nehemiah 8:10). If your imagination draws God as a temperamental Gandalf, you need an eraser. No worries crease his face, no dark lord furrows his brow, and no consternation churns his stomach acid. God is immutably content, serene, happy, and at peace within himself. God enjoys being God. This turns out to be the source of everyone elses happiness, if only we will draw from it. ~from a writing project in process.
