God is not just good but amazing! My sister-in-law called me last - TopicsExpress

God is not just good but amazing! My sister-in-law called me last night as the second half of this storm was beginning to touch Lansing. It stretched almost to Lake Michigan when her call came in. She was panicked for my safety. I told her I had prayed psalm 91 over me, everyone I pray for, and all of my property. I also had prayed the blood of Jesus over all of this. Finally, I took communion before heading to the basement for cover. I do not take weather like this lightly. I have been through a tornado before where all looked calm and all of a sudden I could not see out the window. The whole house was shaking, locked doors were busted open and an oak tree was uprooted in the back yard, hit the house three different times in three different places and the house so hard that it caused the drywall to detach from the 2x4s. There was a huge hole in the upper bedroom where my daughter had been playing just previously, and this tree landed inches away from the living room where I was sitting a minute before this happened. All this happened without warning. There is very little space between the front of the house and the road. The tree landed in that small space without touching the road or the front of the house. This happened so fast that I barely had time to grab my Downs Syndrome sister and my daughter and get to the back of the house to get to the basement. When I reached the basement, I stopped on the upper stairs because all the basement windows were bent like a bowl from the wind and it looked like the glass was ready to burst. Back at that time, I did not know how to pray like I do now but God also expects us to listen to those quiet inner thoughts that usually go contaray to what we humanly would do. That is the teamwork of God. Pray, bleieve, and stay at peace so that the small thought is not drowned out by your own thoughts. I assured my sister-in-law that while the approaching storm looked awful that God and His mighty angels were taking care of me. I had the accuweather map up on my phone and saw that the storm was huge and it was just starting to touch the tip of Lansing. I put the phone down and kept talking to her maybe about 15 minutes. When we hung up, I picked up my phone again and the map appeared clear. I reset the weather app and still no storm. I then waited for the local news to come on. It was the top story of the night. Downtown Lansing had downed trees and in some places a foot or more of water in the streets. Power was out all over the place affecting hundreds and thousands in outlying areas of our communities everywhere. East Lansing had 26 homes without electricity and a few trees down. We were barely affected. Praise God for answered prayer. Now you may want to argue about this but Im not interested. The Bible says if we deny Jesus, He will deny me. I would rather look like a fool to my friends than lose my partnership with Jesus. The Bible also says that following God will make me look foolish. Thats been going on all my life and still I have a beautiful peace no matter what and there have been a lot of whats in my life.
