God rested on the seventh day because he could. Because creation - TopicsExpress

God rested on the seventh day because he could. Because creation took on a life of its own, and some of his creation became creators. The begotten begat. Hearts once beating kept beating under their own mysterious power. The Big Bang, setting all in motion, never to be swallowed back up within our comprehension. Natural laws planned to precision before any work was begun, now in perpetual motion taking care of all when peace and rest are the true repose, the deepening well, of the Divine Nature, in us all. And God proceeded to bless the seventh day and make it sacred, because on it he has been resting from all his work that God has created for the purpose of making. I would love to do a survey to find out what percent of people imagine the Big Bang in a purely visual way, and what percent adds what the name implies, an unimaginable volume, even though the rumored vacuum in space would have been unlikely to sustain sound waves (though at point zero one could make an argument for some concentrate of some combo of energy/matter). Just my way of working backwards here to what unimaginable peace, stillness, and, yeah, quiet, must have presided eons and moments before the Big Bang, both in ... space ... if such existed, and in the expansive consciousness of the Creator. How could I imagine such if our Creator was masterminding the infinite details of this creation? Because I just think thats how the mind of God works. That both before and after works of creation, there is rest, in order that in that stillness one can sit transfixed at the divine wellsprings of creative stirrings. And this is why God blessed seventh day rest and made it sacred. And this is why God explained that one has to come to know him and his ways to come rest with him, in that place after and before work, our little Big Bangs, setting new things in motion.
