God said Now I know! We see an amazing facet of faith, we must experience and know. Even Psalm 46 states this, Be still and know. This is a literal part of the walk of Abraham. Later Moses has a similar experience, who shall I say you are? Tell them, I am that I am. People need to know, and through knowing they can then determine how to relate to that person. You can fall in love with someone....and then get to know them...oops. Yet, after getting to know them, you can truly love them! Our relationship with Christ is fundamentally based on knowing who He is first. We see what He taught. What He did. By this experience, we can fall in love with Him. His final words on the cross show us that He was still teaching....showing us what He knows(He was reciting Psalm 22). That is caring for someone. We celebrate Easter with little or no relationship to Passover. So if you had understanding about the events of Passover, wouldnt it make sense that you would also have a greater appreciation for what you celebrate? Your friends birthday is tomorrow, and you know that. Do you send them a card 2 weeks later? The best way is a timely way. I think you get the point. We are made in Gods image, and His likeness. If you cant describe His character, how can you say that you love Him? Get to know God. Read His word. When you know Him, you will be in love with Him. Ever hear an atheist say, I just exist. Isnt that interesting, God said that too! They have more in common than they realize! Shalom
