God says a lot about friendship. In a world where friendships are generally superficial and are often reduced to marginal associates; its hard to make connections with men who potentially could become more. So what is a true friend...better yet what is the biblical definition of friendship? The Lord blesses friendship(s) and encourages them. However, friendship involves three foundational elements. 1. Commitment 2. Responsibility 3. Care/Concern Defined by Apostle Paul , For scarcely a righteous man will die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would dare to die. ~Romans 5:7 The use of righteous and good may mislead you a bit. Further one might assume righteousness is good enough, but you will want a few more distinguishable markers. To start, a man who is amiable, benevolent, and loving; possessing characteristics similar to Christ are likely a faithful and true friend.
