God says, we should never forget where He drew us from. I just remembered how after marrying, we couldnt afford a good house for rent. We got one going for KShs 400 per month (About $5). Paying that rent was almost impossible by then. And the caretaker was very irritating in that he used to time on Sunday very early when we are preparing to go church. Most times I could send my dear wife to deal with him, to avoid negotiations since most times the rent wasnt exactly enough. There was only one plastic chair and a table which we used to sit on in turns. And a terrible kerosene stove. We lived in a two roomed stone house with no network, no piped water, no electricity, no mobile phone network, no good toilet and security poor. The neighbors were not as good. There was one communal toilet and two communal bathrooms. There was a witch in that compound. He could come and urinate on our house door frame at night. The following day we would be in disagreement whole day. Until we discerned and prayed. Then there was this small rat, which could eat anything, even drag a knife, cooking stick, eat potatoes, tomatoes, avocados, name it. But killing it was impossible. But we prayed against it. The next very early morning, we met the neighbor looking for his stolen knife, cooking stick, and one tomato. It was great laughter but we later prayed for him. The compound wasnt tidy either. I used to draw water for use from the drilled well which was salty and Id go far to fetch piped water for drinking. That water was so salty, my wife used to have a hard time washing clothes. She could use lots of detergent to do washing. But my heart was at peace! There wasnt even a radio in that house. The door to the bedroom was a curtain. We bless God for delivering us from that place!!! Selah....
