“God, today I pray for America and the Church of Jesus Christ and the leaders of both. I pray for mercy knowing repentance must come first. I pray for our leaders who are consumed with greed. I pray for the church who has lost her way and become entangled in the world. I pray for every individual that we will be sensitive enough to feel compassion and conviction, smart enough to distinguish between the two, and courageous enough to do what is right regardless of cost. I pray for honesty because lying has become much too common. I pray for myself that I will not become disheartened at what I see and hear and become part of the problem instead of the solution.
