God told men that they’re supposed to love their wives like Christ loves the Church. Whoa! That’s big…real big. Sometimes, you have to admit, the Old Testament seems better on this one. You know, just get a letter of divorce and go about your way. That lets us have our own way. But Jesus came in and showed us that there is a better way. It’s called real love. Love is not abusive. Love is not manipulative. Love is not bitter or unkind, and it doesn’t give its heart or its body to another person when it has already covenanted itself to one. First Corinthians 13:4-8, tells us what love is and does, and we should all live by these verses. Remember, active love fixes most things, but selfishness and fear continue breaking what’s already stressed.
