God treats us equally. God hates the sin, but loves the sinner - TopicsExpress

God treats us equally. God hates the sin, but loves the sinner . Ive noticed that, perhaps due to the desire to appeal to the lost, certain segments of the evangelical community reason that since we are all sinners and God loves sinners but hates the sin, they teach that God therefore loves everyone equally and by everyone they include non-Christians who has died rejecting Christ. What do you think? Do you agree that God loves everyone equally? If you agree, how do you reconcile your belief with the observation that some humans suffer significantly more than others, sometimes due to no fault of their own? Please provide Scriptural support for your answers, if possible. If you disagree, do you think God loves Christians more than non-Christians? Does God love some Christians more than others? If so, does that mean God may, in fact, love your Christian family members more than you? How much does God love you then? To use Pauls analogy in Romans 9:21, isnt it possible youre actually the pottery that God created for mundane, common use? Does the doctrine of limited atonement necessarily exclude this belief in a God who loves everyone equally? Please provide Scriptural support for your position too. Please consider the following Scripture before answering, and if you know of other Scripture that you believe is pertinent, please bring them up. Thanks in advance! Romans 9:11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad--in order that Gods purpose in election might stand: 12 not by works but by him who calls--she was told, The older will serve the younger. 13 Just as it is written: Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated. 14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15 For he says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion. 16 It does not, therefore, depend on mans desire or effort, but on Gods mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. 19 One of you will say to me: Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will? 20 But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, Why did you make me like this? 21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use? 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 1 Timothy 2:3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Time to think..........
