God wants you to get back in the game. Quick Hit! 2 He is - TopicsExpress

God wants you to get back in the game. Quick Hit! 2 He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness. The first part of Hebrews 5 tells of how the high priest would care for and shepherd the people in the Old Testament. Jesus is better than the high priests that were back then. In fact, He is our perfect High Priest. Remember, scripture builds on itself. Two days ago, we learned that Jesus understands our weaknesses in temptation because He Himself was tempted like we are. Since He knows our weaknesses, He deals with us gently – just like the high priest of old – when we are ignorant (we don’t know) or we go astray. Are there areas of your life that you have let slip? Jesus is gently nudging you to get back to where you used to be. Let’s take this one a little deeper. 5 Every high priest is selected from among the people and is appointed to represent the people in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. 2 He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness. Meaning – The book of Hebrews shows Jesus as being better than anything or anyone who has come before. He is better than angels, He is better than Moses. And, in chapter 5 He is shown as better than the high priests of Old Testament times. The chapter starts with a description of the high priests of old. Then it moves into how Jesus was selected to be our High Priest. Verse 2 gives us insight as to how God deals with us as His children. There are two factors in our lives that bring the gentle nudging of God in our lives. First if we are ignorant. Ignorant just means you don’t know. As we learn and grow in our faith, God is patient with us and gently moves us along the path of growth. When we go astray, God gently nudges us to get back on the right path. When we wander off, that still small voice inside of us corrects and tries to put us on the right path again. Application –God wants the best for us His children. And He deals with us kindly and patiently. He wants us to grow in faith, and He wants us to stay on the right path. So where are you today? What is it that God is dealing with you about? I said in the video, how I went through a short time of apathy (not caring) about producing my morning devotional. God didn’t scold me. God didn’t rain down fire from Heaven. God simply spoke to me through the Holy Spirit and encouraged me to get back in the fight – to get back in the game. Now from that I have learned that we should do what we are supposed to do – whether we feel like it or not. My writings may not have a positive impact on anyone. But that doesn’t matter. This what I am supposed to do. Keep on going on the right path – even when you don’t feel like it. So for you, I encourage you to search your life and see where God wants you to grow and where God wants you to get back on the right path. Please share this devotional so your friends can be challenged as well. Hope you have a great day. On Facebook - https://facebook/practicaldevotional On Blogspot - practicaldevotional.blogspot/
