God will want to have the animals with him I have been following - TopicsExpress

God will want to have the animals with him I have been following the letter writing that has taken place on the subject of whether dogs go to heaven. With quotes from two local clergy, I have to interject because of my background. I am a lifetime pet owner, a pet sitter with 11½ years experience, a dog trainer, heavily involved in therapy pet work, and co-director and co-founder of a humane education non-profit organization. My family and I currently have five pets of our own and two temporary four-legged residents. God gave us animals in our lives to enhance our existence on his Earth. With therapy pet work, I see the way the dogs and cats draw people out of their shells and get them to interact in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals and schools. People going through recovery from traumatic events will respond to a loving, gentle dog or cat before they will family, friends or staff. I have seen this in action. My registered therapy dogs have performed miracles for me. There are many scriptures where God shows his love and care for the animals He created. Look to Job 12:7-12 and Psalm 50 as two examples. Job says to “Go to the animals and let them teach you.” Psalm 50 says that “All creatures of the forest are mine ... ” I cannot and will not believe he made all these wonderful creatures, only to deny them a place in heaven when this earthly life is done. God will want to have the animals with him. Remember St. Francis of Assisi. Mary Wilson Montgomery
