God – Source of PEACE& Guidance: One of the names of the Creator (along with other beautiful names) is AS-SALAM, which means the source of PEACE. Other names of God are Allah (The God), the Eternal, The Sustainer, The Merciful, The Forgiving, the Loving etc. Yes, God, the Creator, is a loving God. The air we breathe, we don’t have to purchase it from Wal-Mart or Target. It was given to us for free. Likewise the wonderful resources God provided for our sustenance shows His loving care for humanity. If God is so loving and caring don’t we think He will provide solutions and guidance for humanity to achieve PEACE? Thus, the recipe for PEACE is to… Obey God = Achieve PEACE Imagine an office with no laws. Imagine if no one came on time and did some work but not in accordance with guidelines of the employer. What will happen? Chaos and disorder. However, obeying the rules and regulations at work makes the day productive and rewarded by the employer. Same way, by obeying or submitting to the Creator of the universe will bring peace, justice and harmony in the society. Submitting to the Creator and obeying His guidance IS Islam. The outcome of such submission is nothing less than PEACE, PEACE within an individual and PEACE in the society. God’s guidance is found in the Quran, final revelation He sent for humanity through God’s final messenger, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
