Godliness and Holiness are two very important things to God, and He requires you to adhere to both. You cannot have one without the other. Your godliness must produce holiness (which is purity, peity, sinless, undefiled, spotless, and non-worldliness), and vice versa - your holiness must produce godliness. Sadly, this is not the case today. Many people think that they can be godly without being holy. And, you may be able to have some form of godliness, but still deny the power of the One & Only God (2 Timothy 3:5). See, you can have a form (a type, an image/projection, an appearance) of holiness, yet still deny the power of God that comes through holiness. Many ignorantly preach that you will never be holy and without sin until you cross over to the other side; not knowing that you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless you are holy on this side. I am no judge, but, God does not change His mind about His Word or holiness; nor will He ever change His Word (heaven and earth may pass away........Matthew 24:35). Pursuing and achieving holiness in this life should be a number one priority for ALL professing Believers in Christ. We have to pray and seek God like never before. We have to not only die to the flesh, cast down vain imaginations, and take up our cross daily, but, we have to fall out of agreement with anything that is darkness, sin and ungodliness. It may mean that we have to go through deliverance, and renounce any agreement with the enemys lies. In addition, the bibles says to follow peace with all men, and holiness, for WITHOUT WHICH NO MAN shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). Notice the Word does not say follow peace and godliness. It says and holiness, for without Holiness, no man shall see the Lord. You cannot be godly and holy just by merely acknowledging that God exits while just living in a pattern or form of your own standard of godliness and holiness. Only the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob can make you holy, and requires you to be holy (in this life and the life to come). It is not just about acknowledging His existence, but we must become like Him, living according to His standards of purity, selflessness, and non-worldliness. How we dress, carry ourselves, and pray is just a part of it. We have to love the things that God loves, and hate the things that God hates. We have to love His Word, meditate on His Word, keep His commandments, seek Him, pray without ceasing, resist the devil, flee lusts, disagree with sin, refuse to compromise, and lastly, remain unspotted from the world. No one knows how they will leave this earth. That means that you may not have time to repent before you cross over. Dont count on waiting until you get on your deathbed. The church of satans founder Anton Lavey found that out the hard way (according to his followers who were at this bed side). They were so horrified, that his deathbed experience caused them to give their lives to the Lord. Dont wait until it is too late to find out about holiness according to Gods standards.
