Godliver Businge graduated with the 2012 Civil Engineering class at St. Josephs Technical Institute in Kisubi, Uganda with top marks in her class. After rejecting a job offer from the Ugandan education minister soon after graduating, she began work as a trainer at Global Womens Water Initiative, an organization that focuses on teaching women to bring sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene solutions to their communities. People now look at me as a role model, someone who is different. Many young people are following in my footsteps and many are starting to think that women really can do men’s jobs. This interview with her is poignant and inspiring, and definitely worth sharing.
