Gods Grace The more I read through Romans the more I want to - TopicsExpress

Gods Grace The more I read through Romans the more I want to just fall to my knees and praise Him. We serve an incredible God. I was reading in Romans this morning. It is talk about coming from death into life. Changing our nature from sin and death to life eternal and grace. Before we knew the law, we did not know we were sinning. However, once we knew we were sinning we increased in our sin. Verse 20 and 21, The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. If you didnt know you were sinning, there would be no need for a savior. Romans 6:23 would have had no meaning at all. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. I love these scriptures because there is nothing about me in them. Let me explain, I am not justified, sanctified, or made holy by anything I do, say or pretend to be. I am simply made holy, righteous, and free through what Christ did for me on the cross. Let me ask you this, do you ever feel like you are trying so hard to accomplish this walk with God? Do you ever feel like you got the whole weight of the world on your shoulders? These are all signs that you have not released everything to Him. You may have told God that you were giving Him your anger, finances, relationships, job situation, and pride, but chances are you picked that crap back up. Grace is freedom, but it is also empowerment. You are empowered to walk in such a manner where you are righteous or in right standing with God. Because you are righteous and about the Lords business, benefits of being a child of the King kick in. You have been given the signet ring. It is a free pass, just know, just like Jesus and the prophets of old were beaten, bruised, tortured, and martyred, so too could you. Luke 9:24 is a promise for you, For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. I dont mean to speak harshly, but the reality is one day you will be faced with the decision of continuing to follow Christ or simply walking away. There is a cost for following Christ and it is great, but the cost of following yourself and your flesh is death. What is a greater price? You have been given a great gift, His grace. Dont forget the words of Jesus in Luke 12:47-48. The servant who knows what his master wants and ignores it, or insolently does whatever he pleases, will be thoroughly thrashed. But if he does a poor job through ignorance, he’ll get off with a slap on the hand. Great gifts mean great responsibilities; greater gifts, greater responsibilities! Today, give grace to others. People fall, people sin, people outright hurt us sometimes, but show grace. Perhaps its the grace that you show that leads them to the amazing grace found in Jesus Christ. Be quick to listen and slow to speak, but let the words of the Holy Spirit flow forth when the time has come. Remember we are all in this together. Keep praying, Keep seeking, Keep reading.
