(Proverbs 21:23) The Word • If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given you. This is to my Father’s glory that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. (John 15:7-8) • I am born of God, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible, through the Word of God which lives and abides forever. (1 Peter 1:23) • And now my brothers, I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. (Luke 8:15) • I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. (1 Thessalonians 5:19-20) • In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. (Romans 9:8) • If you belong to Christ, you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise. (Galations 3:29) • The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made. (Psalm 145:13) • We do not want you to be lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. (Hebrews 6:12) • A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. (Proverbs 25:11) • If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. (Luke 9:26) • Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction.
