God’s Gift! The Scripture: But rejoice inasmuch as you - TopicsExpress

God’s Gift! The Scripture: But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 1 Peter 4:13 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:6-11 The Message: 1 Peter chapters 4 and 5 provide encouragement to me. There is sometimes a contrast or can be hard for me to understand the concept of living for God yet suffering for being a Christian. Yet when I dig deeply into the Word of God and allow the Spirit of God to make sense of what I’m reading, His Word becomes life to me. Somehow I “get it” that suffering can be a gift and through that suffering, God is providing Himself to guide us through. Are you allowing Him to guide you today? Or are you walking through the valley of anxiety alone? I encourage you to read 1 Peter chapters 4 and 5 and find the enemy – the devil and sometimes ourselves, but also find the eternal One that is in the process of restoration. May the God of grace provide you comfort, strength and direction today. God bless. The Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the precious gift that You provide me daily. It is a hard for me to understand how a good gift can hold can hold suffering in one’s life. Teach me to understand that Your spiritual gifts that I receive are not for today’s growth, but it is for Your future. I know that Your plan for the future is good for me, so allow me to be patient in my learning in Jesus’ name. Amen!
