God’s Word tells us in Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he”, and in Luke 6:45, “A good person produces good from the good treasure of his heart, and an evil person produces evil from an evil treasure, because the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart. What is inside us will come out of us, and usually at the most inopportune times. We should handle our words carefully because words have more power than a stick of dynamite does. The old saying, “sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me” is so untrue. Words are very hurtful, even more that physical hurt, words cut deep. We should be careful with our thoughts; they may become words at any moment! Remember after all is said and done, more is said than done. Some of the hardest things to forgive are harsh words that have been spoken due to the fact that they remain in the persons mind and heart. You can’t retract them once they come out of your mouth, they are said and done! Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things”, which basically means, if you put garbage in, you will have garbage come out but if you put love and happiness in, then love and happiness will come out of you, even in conflict. I like to put it this way, if I LOVED cars, worked on cars, bought car magazines, and wanted to own all sorts of cars, the subject of my conversation would be what? Cars! In contrast if I read my bible daily, listen to God’s Word and see all of His Amazing love has for me, then I will speak of Him and act like Him, even in conflict! Happiness does not simply happen to us. We have to choose to be happy and keep choosing it every day. Hold your tongue and think before you react because the one you hurt may be the one that loves you more than anything! Ill leave you with one more verse, Proverbs 18:21 says, The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Happy Friday everyone! God bless you all!
