Going back through my notes reminds me just how much material I created for the setting of Orison and its sequels. The history and mythology of multiple pantheons, how they came into conflict with one another, and magical catastrophes that changed the shape of civilization. Maybe one percent of it is actually in the prose, which is a bit double-edged -- its nice to have that there in the background, but I think it makes me extra-sensitive about infodump because few but me know how big that dump truck actually is. The other double-edged sword is that on one hand, theres so much potential that I feel I could easily write a hundred books in this world -- on the other, I pretty much wont live that long and must decide what stories I really want to tell.
