Going into the seventh week since Lynn attacked the parking lot - TopicsExpress

Going into the seventh week since Lynn attacked the parking lot surface with her face and arm ... with dire consequences. And things are looking MUCH better in her journey to recovery. In a meeting today with her care team ... EVERYthing was positive. She is breathing on her own, the antibiotics were discontinued today - no remaining active infection, and she is trying very hard to talk. Later this week, most likely, the stabilization rods in her broken arm will be removed and (maybe) the tracheotomy will be reversed. If all of that goes well, and the doc certainly thinks it will, she will be transferred (late this week / early next week) to a sub-acute care facility where the hard (and probably lengthy) job of physical therapy will begin. She will be frustrated (and probably a little cranky) during this rehab process. I can deal with a little cranky at this point. So, maybe ... just maybe ... somewhere in the early part of 2015 it will indeed be a HAPPY New Year. I want to again thank all of you for your prayers and good wishes for Lynn ... and hope that you and yours also have a Happy New Year!
