Going through the shelves this evening, came across a cookbook with fond memories for me. I was promoting the Hudson Valley Wine & Food Festival, @ Montgomery Place, Annandale, NY, and Valerie Nehez, was one of the cooking demonstrators, promoting her new book. I can remember reading it and thinking Heres someone who speaks my language in the kitchen. Im a little saddened by the number of copies of The Cafe Pongo Cookbook available on Amazon for a penny, but I can recommend it. Its a good one. (In fact, this was one of those books Id pick up copies of just to give as gifts.) True to form I shared my favorite recipe, my Grandfathers Spinach Pie.
