Going to Syria with Kevin Hylton to play music in 1997 was one of the most enjoyable trips, I have ever taken. This was in a time of peace. I brought back a number of finely crafted drums. I was given a silver Dumbek and matching Riq in Aleppo. We played the first open air concerts in 20 years with the brilliant Palestinian computer artist, Samia Hallaby. I was deeply touched by such a warm and loving people. Ps. I also took a lot of great photos. Love and clear thinking to all.
