Going to be an exciting day today. In my volunteer work with Western Farm Workers Association I get to be a part of some pretty cool things. In my 3 years with them this may be one the coolest. The managers of this great organization negotiate and get some pretty amazing things for our members. Today I drive two people to Portland Kaiser hospital for cataract surgury. Absolutely amazing to be with people as they gain vision lost years ago. Lol really I dont know if the surgery happens and they see in the same day but its a cool thought! About 110 people got glasses this year some for the first time!! All supplies and labor donated by an amazing group of Drs and other great volunteers. One little girl got her 1st pair of glasses, she had been in special ed. The Dr ran into her father some time later and found out that she was out of special ed and is now in 4th grade right in the middle of her class. Truth is Im feeling tired and lazy today.... Im going to keep these stories in my mind and drink another cup of coffee and pop my lazy butt in the shower. Who knows how surgery is going to change this man and womans life..? Happy Monday ♡
